If your organization is considering the acquisition of self-service coin processing systems to allow consumers to process their own coins for deposit or cash redemption, this document will prove useful in your evaluation and selection process.

The Self-Service Coin Processing System Buyer’s Checklist is simply a series of questions organized into broad categories, that should be asked or considered as part of your decision process. Some of these questions are meant to be directed to potential suppliers of such products and others to your third party coin processor, while others are important questions that should be discussed within your own organization while setting your goals and expectations to ensure a more successful selection and implementation of a self-service coin solution.

Is Magner a reliable source for such a ‘Buyer’s Checklist,’ especially since it is also a supplier of self-service coin processing systems?

This is not a “sales gimmick” but rather a useful worksheet. We invite comparison to other suppliers of similar systems. The areas included in the “Checklist” are those that should be important to any buyer evaluating self-service systems. It was deliberately formulated to consider everyone involved in and all phases of the process. After all, besides attaining the objectives and meeting the needs of your own institution, the overall success of your self-service coin implementation is also highly dependent on:

• Meeting or exceeding your customer/member or target customer/member expectations.

• The capabilities and policies of your third-party coin processor, if you utilize one.

• The resources and expertise of your selected supplier, including operational training and ongoing support.

In reviewing and using the Self-Service Coin Processing System Buyer’s Checklist, we hope you will agree that it is both objectively constructed and a valuable tool in your decision-making process. Good luck with your self-service coin processing system evaluation!
